About Us

We cater to the needs of the Afro-Caribbean and black community. We look through the lens of Intergenerational trauma. Our project will include Dramatherapy sessions centred around the realisation, freedom, and healing from Intergenerational trauma within the Afro-Caribbean community due to the effects of Windrush and Slavery.

Vision

To break the chains of Intergenerational trauma and foster healing in the Afro-Caribbean and black communities.

Mission

To bring collective and individual healing and mental well-being to the black community through transformative Dramatherapy sessions.

Goal

To reverse the decline in the mental health of the Afro-Caribbean community. To see transformation, acceptance and healing individually and collectively.

What Is Dramatherapy?

Dramatherapy utilises dramatic and creative tools to achieve therapeutic goals. In essence, its aim is to facilitate personal growth and promote mental health.

Dramatherapy is firmly grounded in Psychological theory. It is a form of psychotherapy.

Within the sessions, the dramatherapist may use improvisation, mask work, puppetry, sand tray, drumming, storytelling, story making, voice and bodywork to create methods to engage clients in effecting psychological, emotional and social changes.

The therapy gives equal validity to body and mind within the dramatic context. These will enable the client to explore difficult and painful life experiences through an indirect approach.

One-to-one sessions can be Dramatherapy or other forms of therapy, depending on who your therapist is.

I am a fully qualified Dramatherapist. Trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. I am registered with The British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth) and the Health & Care Professions Council (hcpc) and also DBS checked.

I specialise in Intergeneration trauma, grief, identity and general mental health. I work with young children, adolescents and adults and I work across the education, charity and private sector.
